Monday 4 – Tuesday 5 August 2024
The WA School of Mines (WASM) is set to welcome industry professionals from the resources sector for exclusive campus tours during the highly anticipated Diggers & Dealers Conference in August. This initiative aims to foster stronger connections between academia and industry, highlighting the innovative research and educational excellence being conducted at the school funded by the Resources Technology and Critical Minerals Trailblazer.
The campus tour, scheduled for August 4 and 5, will provide industry leaders, professionals, and stakeholders with an in-depth look at WASM’s cutting-edge facilities and educational programs. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with faculty members, researchers, and students being supported by the Trailblazer program, gaining insights into the latest research-backed advancements in mining technology and practices being developed through the program.
Led by Trailblazer Deputy Director Andrew Bell from Curtin University, the tours play an important role in showcasing how the Trailblazer program is innovating collaboration between industry partners and academia to commercialise resources technology and critical minerals research.
“We are thrilled to host industry professionals during the Diggers & Dealers Conference for this exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the world-class facilities and the groundbreaking work being conducted under the Trailblazer program at WASM. We believe that strong partnerships between academia and industry are crucial for the continued growth and innovation of the resources sector and these tours will outline how we are achieving this.”
The tours coincide with Diggers & Dealers, Australia’s leading mining forum, which is expected to attract over 2,500 attendees. Combining corporate presentations by listed mining and exploration companies alongside a large exhibition area housing over 159 exhibitors from the sector, delegates include miners, explorers, brokers, bankers, investors, financiers and mining service industries from around the world plus a 30 strong media contingent.
