Critical Minerals Sector Briefing

Back to news & events

On Thursday 20 June, Resources Technology and Critical Minerals Trailblazer Director Rohan McDougall fronted members of Western Australia’s mining and critical minerals sector alongside industry heavyweights Bill Beament, Angela Glover, and Raj Surendran at Business News’s Critical Minerals Sector Briefing.

The panel discussed the challenges facing the critical minerals industry, including difficulties in financing projects, securing approvals, labour shortages, and the need for new technology to make green premium products an attractive market.

Rohan McDougall’s comments echoed those of the Hon David Michael MLA, Minister for Mines and Petroleum; Ports; Road Safety; Minister Assisting the Minister for Transport, who provided the keynote address for the event in which he outlined how the abundance of world class natural resources, plus the best of the best in the mining, equipment, technology and services sector (METS) positioned Western Australia favourably in solving these key challenges for the sector.
