Ignition Program

Back to news & events

The Curtin Ignition program is an intensive training program for aspiring entrepreneurs, academics and corporate innovators to trial and then prepare business ideas for the commercial environment. Ignition comprises of practical teaching sessions, expert clinics, mentor sessions, and experienced advice and support from leading entrepreneurs and innovators.

This year, the program ran from 3 September to 8 September 2023. For the first time there was a dedicated Trailblazer stream as part of the program. Resources Technology and Critical Minerals Trailblazer awarded 29 scholarships to researchers, academics and PhD candidates to prepare their business idea and project ready for the industry sector.

From these Trailblazer Ignition scholarships, some participants have gone through the Trailblazer application process and become successful in obtaining funding for their project. The Curtin Ignition program has been a fantastic stepping stone for these participants to prepare them for commercialising their product and becoming industry ready.
